A1 Free Time: Snack, play cards, sleep, hike, make new friends, relax….the choice is yours.
A2 Novice Soprano/Tenor Recorder Session: If you have a recorder and can just about play a C scale and sort of read music, this session is for you! You will improve your ability to both play and read music as we have fun playing rounds and simple, somewhat familiar tunes. More advanced players are welcome, providing they are willing to move at the pace of the workshop. Presenter: Toosie Margolies
A3 Cooperative Games and Ice Breakers: Get your troop up and movin’ and shakin’ as they learn how to do some cooperatin’! No one ever said we were poets, but we do know games! Play some meet ‘n greet icebreakers and gain some insight into why these games are a necessary part of your troop dynamic. Make your meetings fun! Handouts and web site references will be available. Presenters: Paula Ruozzi and Pat Gardner
A4 Clay Pot Fall Centerpiece: Awesome clay pot scarecrow/fall centerpiece, easy to make and lots of fun! Participants should bring any size glue gun with at least 6 glue sticks, and an extension cord. Fee $11. Presenters: Janey Blend-Rood and Diana Downing
A5 Knots and Ties: Did you admire the lovely ties that the GE committee wore last year? Now you can learn to make your own tie with a Friendship Knot that you can put your pins on. If there is time, we will also learn other decorative knots like Monkey Fist. Fee $3. Presenter: Laura Lane
A6 Wonderful Beeswax!: Beeswax is the easiest and most beautiful sculptural material for children and adults. It's been used for centuries, and is non-toxic and versatile. Learn how to use it in your Girl Scout troops, and take home a beautifully decorated candle and other crafts. This year we will add ideas for Christmas and Veteran's day! Fee $10.00. B2 Chimes: Do you like to play music? This workshop will introduce you to the art of Chime ringing. Presenter: Toosie Margolies
B3A Qigong: Qigong is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China. This workshop will introduce you to it and include twenty minutes in the practice, which involves slow circular stretching movements to generate energy flow and self-healing. Comfortable clothing, towel or mat could be used for people who prefer to lie or sit, but not absolutely necessary. Presenter: Gordon Keir.
B3B CSI Wabasso: Does your favorite TV show involve crime scenes and witty banter about blood spatter? In this workshop we will learn and practice forensic techniques, such as finger printing, DNA extraction, ink chromatography, bite impression and more, and then stage a crime scene to investigate. Lots of ideas to bring back to troops of all ages. Fee $2. Presenter: Sue Stewart
B4 Memory Keepsake Boxes: Create and save your cherished memories. Whether your memories include, weddings, babies, vacations, growing up, family, hobbies, recipes, pets, love and friendship, special people, sports, school-days, or birthdays, I can help you create the “perfect box”. Boxes will be provided along with many of the supplies and tools to complete your box. Please contact me ahead of time at vmo3641@aol.com with your theme and I will help you with ideas of what you will need to bring along to complete your box. Presenter: Ginny O’Neil
B5 From Confounding to Cool, Making Compasses Fun: Here’s a compass…. Here’s a map… Now What?? Come learn how to teach basic orienteering skills to girls of all ages in ways that they’ll pick up easily. From thumbing to using maps, we’ll touch upon some key components of orienteering. Learn some fun games to practice those skills that your girls will love to play! Presenters: Sarah Leshay and Nicole Archambault
B6 Knots and Lashes and Flies, Oh My!: Learn ways to erect a rain fly utilizing a tarp, rope, sticks, stakes, knots and lashes. Presenter: Barbara Baker
Session AB 9:15 – 12:15
AB1 Stained Glass Bugs or Butterflies: Make a 4 x 4” panel with a bug or butterfly. Color choices: red, yellow, orange, purple, green or blue. Fee $5, one bug per participant. Presenter: Kaye Glass
AB2 Beginning Basket Weaving: This workshop will teach you how to make a small-medium sized woven basket and will give you tips on how to teach this to scouts (juniors and older) if you choose, though participants should feel free to take this for personal growth. Most people will finish their basket in the workshop, but some weavers may require additional time. I’m available for help throughout the weekend. Beginners and experienced weavers are welcome - though the instruction given will be for beginners. Participants should bring a pair of sharp scissors. Fee $3. Presenter: Eileen Sullivan
Session AB and CD 9:15 – 12:15 and 2:15 – 5:15
ABCD1 Quilt for the Day: Join us for a day of quilting. Bring your own project or choose one of the instructor’s (pictures and yardage available upon request davebets@mac.com) Participants should have some sewing ability. We will be using rotary cutters and production sewing techniques to allow you to create a quilt top in one day. Please bring your sewing machine (some available if needed), cutters, mats and rulers, fabric, thread, and scissors. Bring backing fabric and batting if you’re fast! Presenter: Betsy Griffin
Session C 2:15 – 4:15

C2 House of Cards: Make cards for friends and family while sharing conversation and fellowship. You will make at least six cards and a small gift using stamps and learn how to embellish them. Fee $10. Presenters: Laura Russell and Lesley Murray
C2 High Tech Hide and Seek: Have you ever spotted people wandering around your town GPS in hand, searching high and low like they lost something? If so, you have spotted a geocacher. Geocaching is a high tech version of hide and seek. With the help of a GPS, geocachers set out to locate a cache that has been hidden by others. The thrill of the seek is rivaled only by the creativity of the cache creator. Come and find out more and try your hand at locating some caches hidden on camp! If you have access to a hand held GPS system, please bring it. Presenters: Sarah Leshay and Nicole Archambault
C3 Aunt Philly’s Toothbrush Rugs: The “Toothbrush Rug” is made from torn strips of fabric and a modified toothbrush. Participants will start to make a trivet or chair pad. These rugs are quick to make and require no sewing with a fast tearing technique which takes just minutes. Rugs made from 100% cotton are best. Check out auntphillys.com. Participants should not spend a lot on fabric, scraps from previous projects, old clothes, or remnants from stores will work. Avoid heavy fabrics. Small patterns may show up, but usually only the color seems to matter. A starter kit for the trivet is available from the instructor for $10 (includes toothbrush). Please bring small, sharp scissors, a large safety pin and fabric if you wish, 3 yds for a trivet, 6 or 7 for a chair pad. C4 “Canoe Canoe”: Learn the fundamentals of paddling and enjoy a quiet spin around the pond! Relaxation is our focus as we give pointers and answer questions about how canoeing can be an empowering experience for our girls. All participants will be provided with paddle, personal floatation device (PFD) and simple instructions. Fee $5 Presenters: Paula Ruozzi and Pat Gardner
C5 Spinning Wool: Learn about spinning wool! Each participant will receive a drop spindle and some wool with which to experiment (and to take home). You will learn about various fibers (flax, mohair, angora) and spinning equipment, and will have a chance to try carding wool and spinning on a spinning wheel. Learn about “sheep to shawl” competitions, what it means to “spin in the grease”, what a niddy-noddy and a distaff are. Fee $3. Presenter: Sally Bond
C6 Beginning Soprano Recorder: Have you ever wanted to learn to play a recorder and read music but have been afraid to try? Then this workshop is for you. No equipment necessary. We will have recorders available that you may borrow for the weekend. Surprise your troop by playing taps at the next meeting. Presenter: Toosie Margolies.
C7 Learn to Crochet: Come away from this workshop with several Granny Squares using the three basic stitches of crocheting. Please bring a skein of worsted weight yarn and a G or H crochet hook and patience to learn. Presenters: Brenda Briggs and Jennifer Briggs
C8 Hand Smocked Christmas Ball: We will smock fabric to fit over a 4” Styrofoam ball. Please bring 2 DMC embroidery floss skeins (your choice of color) and small embroidery scissors. Fee $5. Presenter: Ann Selig
C9 Japanese Chain Maille Earrings: Make a pair of simple elegant earrings using the Japanese weave of Chain Maille. Chain Maille is the ancient art of joining metal rings, usually used for chain maille shirts worn under armor. Perfect for beginners. If time allows we will also make a bracelet. Please bring two small flat pliers. Fee $5. Presenters: Kathy Johnson and Sue Acosta

D1 Free Time: Snack, play cards, sleep, hike, make new friends, relax….the choice is yours.
D2 Keep the Tradition Strong! – Songs and Graces: A presentation of old and new songs and graces for leaders to learn and teach their girls. Bring any Girl Scout songbooks or song sheets that you have and some sort of recording device if you’d like to have what’s taught on tape! Presenters: Nancy McLaughlin and Mel Hurley
D3 Learn Science is FUN!: Learn some hands on science activities that are easy, fun for all ages. Presenter: Noreen Francis
Session CD 2:15 – 5:15
CD1 Pysanky: Pysanky is the ancient eastern European art of egg decorating. You use a stylus to write with wax on the egg shell, and then the egg is dipped in dye. The process is similar to batik, when melted wax is applied to cloth before being dyed. If you’d like to read more about pysanky-making before attending the workshop, www.learnpysanky.com is a good place to start. You may decorate as many eggs as you wish. However if you are new to Pysanky, you’ll be encouraged to choose a simple design for a white plus one color “practice egg”, then depending on the complexity of the design you choose, it might take the rest of the time to complete a second egg. Fee includes all supplies to complete your eggs, plus a stand to display your favorite egg. Fee $5. Presenters: Louise Quigley and Roxie Walsh
CD2 Stained Glass Bug or Butterfly: (a repeat of session AB1) Make a 4 x 4” panel with a bug or butterfly. Color choices: red, yellow, orange, purple, green or blue. Fee $5 one bug per participant. Presenter: Kaye Glass
