Great Escape 2026

What: The Great Escape is a relaxing and enjoyable weekend getaway for adult Girl Scouts to enjoy planned workshops or just relax for the weekend, meet with old friends and make new ones.

Who: The Great Escape is open to all women and men who are at least 18 years old who are currently or have previously been affiliated with a Girl Scouts of the USA troop or group.  Girl Guides are also invited!

When: Participants may arrive as early as 1 PM on Friday, September 25, 2026, and stay as late as noon on Sunday, September 27, 2026.  Plan to stay to enjoy breakfast and our closing ceremony on Sunday morning!

Where: (new location as of 2023) The Great Escape is held at Camp Wind-in-the-Pines which is located in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Cost

Cost includes sleeping accommodations, meals, workshops, program and other activities. 

**$55.00 Early Bird - registrations received on or before July 31, 2026**

**$65.00 - registrations received after July 31, 2026**

 **Saturday Only fee - $45**

includes workshops, lunch, dinner, our fabulous auction and singing 

(no overnight).

Registration and Payment

Workshop Selection: Choose workshops by their alpha-numeric code on the registration form. Include a 2nd and 3rd choice for each workshop session. Every effort will be made to place you in your first choice workshops, but workshops with limited numbers might fill whereas other workshops might be canceled if there are less than minimum numbers of participants.  Workshops fill up fast so send your payment ASAP.

Payment options are available at the conclusion of your online registration through PayPal or Venmo.  Personal checks are also accepted by completing the online registration form and then sending your check by 'snail mail' payable to:

Just in case:  Should Great Escape be cancelled for some extreme circumstance, we offer the following refund options:  complete $$ refund, credit towards next year’s event, or a 'thank you' from us should you opt to contribute the fee to our auction.  Should unforeseen personal  circumstances arise that cause you to have to cancel, please e-mail Lesley to discuss at gsgreatescape@gmail.com.  We are flexible and understanding and will keep details confidential.

Accommodations: Camp Wind-in-the-Pines is one of Eastern Massachusetts’ overnight camps and has three lodging options:

• There are several different tent sites which have platform tents with cots, flush toilets, a shower and pavilions with electricity. We can supply extension cords to the tents for anyone needing electricity for a CPAP machine.

• Indoor sleeping space may be available at the EDC building. This is one large room for those assigned indoor space.  This room only has single mattresses.  You are welcome to bring your own cot or mattress, no larger than full-sized, please. 

• You may bring your own tent or hammock to use outdoors if you so wish.

Confirmation Packet:  This packet (sent by email 2 weeks before GE unless otherwise requested) and will include workshop assignments, any materials needed for workshops, a suggested packing list, a health form, directions to the camp, and site assignments.

Of interest.. Keep reading a bit longer..

“Kapers” means jobs in Girl Scout lingo. To make the Great Escape run smoothly, everyone will be asked to sign up for a small chore at check-in. (There is no paid staff or cleaning crew at the Great Escape, so everyone will need to pitch in. The site manager is responsible for camp maintenance – not general cleaning.) 

Auction: There will be a live auction during the weekend.  Auction proceeds will be donated to Camp Wind-in-the-Pines or GSEMA for improvements to camps or equipment necessary to enhance girl program.  See the “Auction” tab for more details.

Deadline:  Although this event fills quickly, registration officially closes Friday, September 11, 2026, so we can prepare for your arrival at camp!

Lesley expects your check within 10 business days of registration.  Send it today so your registration is not moved to the wait list.  Workshops are assigned when we receive payment.
